In 2015 at 19 she published her first debut single, Here. It was a hugely acclaimed track by both critics and listeners. The song reached the top spot in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs in 2015. In the same year, she released her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also among the first five songs. The song was unique since a lot of people reacted to the conversation she conducted with rapper Rap-Up on her journey in learning to love and accept her. Cara incorporates messages about love and kindness in her songs. Her inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. In a Reuters' interview, she's described her album half tumultuous but half perfected. The therapy she received helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on 11 July 1996, was a daughter of Italian descent parents. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it ignited her love for music. At the age of 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube to prove to the public that she had talent and had the courage to make a profession of an artist. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
